Meet Our Team
John Mehling
Founder
John is an Architectural Designer and licensed General Contractor who has helped his clients design and build for over 25 years. Growing up as a third-generation builder, he has construction blueprints running through his veins. His hands-on experience with a wide range of custom projects help him anticipate and overcome challenging design and logistic requirements.
John is personally committed to ensuring the success of your project. His attention to detail has cemented his reputation as a respected designer and builder. John and his wife Jamie live in the South Bay of Los Angeles with their two children, Jack and Joella. In their free time, they enjoy family bike rides, snowboarding and beach days.
Jamie Golden
Design and Operations
Jamie’s passion for interior design started early, thanks to her mother’s love of painting and decorating. What began as helping friends with their bathroom projects evolved into a career as a designer. Jamie thrives on blending materials seamlessly while making sure each client feels their needs are heard and their space is a true reflection of their lifestyle. And of course, she always brings that unforgettable “wow” factor. Outside of creating stunning interiors, Jamie is all about balancing family life, playing beach volleyball, traveling, and indulging in amazing food.
Kimberly Gamez
Design Consultant
Kimberly has been a Design Consultant with Design With Haven since 2023. She previously worked with other reputable design firms prior to joining DWH. She completed the Diploma Course at the Interior Design
Institute of San Francisco in 2022 and is a current student of Architecture at El Camino College. She believes that design is experiential and should be done with warmth and thoughtfulness.
Above all, her intention is to create interiors that withstand the test of time. In her free time, you can find her making a recipe out of a cookbook or walking her dog, Stormie.
Aleksandra Hudkova
3D Rendering Artist
Interior design is not just a job for me—it’s a passion. I’ve dedicated over 10 years to developing and fine-tuning my 3D visualization skills. It allows me to create artistically polished images, capturing the atmosphere and mood of a space before it's built. For me, it’s not work but true art. When I want to change the pace and unwind, I enjoy baking sourdough bread, practicing yoga, spending time with my family playing board games, or enjoying a great movie with delicious food. After all, creativity isn’t just about work—it’s also found in life’s simple joys.
